A Good Sick Day

A Good Sick Day

Yesterday I had scheduled a vacation day so I could be home when Nature Stone came to finish off the rest of our basement.  When I got up in the morning, my nose was all full and I couldn't get it cleaned out.  Then I developed a sore throat and as the day went on, I felt worse and worse.  Although I didn't get near the stuff done that I had hoped, it was good I was off because I would have been miserable at work and spreading germs everywhere.  My nose was running about every 15 minutes!

Everything was moving along as planned.  The electrician came early to connect the basement phone jack to the wall, the floor got done except for the top coat which will be put on today.  I told them I'd leave the key for them (in a secret place which I'm NOT going to tell you) because I had to work.

A few things happened though to brighten my day.  I had comments on my blogs from two different people that they were going to read my book!  This always makes me happy to hear that.  Then, we got $800 Best Buy gift cards from Owens-Corning for having them install the basement system.

Today, I woke up debating if I should go to work or not because I was tired from being up blowing my nose and drinking water all night long.  I still felt yucky, but at least my throat didn't hurt.  I called off sick but decided to try to function normal and if it went well, I could still go in for the afternoon.  Well, although I felt better than yesterday, I was still blowing my nose about every 20 minutes so decided to stay home and rest so hopefully I could go to the Bible Study tonight.  I told Gerard to put the key in the "secret place" for Nature Stone in case I was sleeping when he came.

Good thing I was home!  We forgot to unlock the deadbolt lock above the doorknob because we only left the key for the doorknob lock.  If I hadn't been home, we would have had to reschedule.  See how God looks out for me!  Now I'm going eat lunch and take a nap with my cats.
