Drawing With Teaching

Drawing With Teaching

I learned something from the 5th grade boys in my Sunday School class this week.  Sometimes as I teach I do little drawings on the whiteboard which serves two purposes:  (1) it gets their attention, and (2) it helps them remember points of the lesson.

Our lesson was on the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30).  I was drawing faces to show the owners' reaction to each servant after he came back from his journey and the first two were pleased--easy to draw those.  The last one was anger and displeasure.  I found out the the eyebrows make all the difference.  I had the mouth okay but the eyebrows I had backwards.  The boys were quick to tell me that it wasn't right and then Evan proceeded to show me how to do it.  They like it when they can teach me things too!  There is so much I still need to learn!!
