So Long Cliff Lee & Victor Martinez

UPDATED 8/1/09:

Boy, talk about a 1-2 punch to the Cleveland fans!  Now right after Cliff Lee, they trade their only All-Star player of this year--Victor Martinez to Boston!  I can't take any more of this--here I am in my new fan shirt and hat.  Sorry, tribe, I've had enough for this season at least.  Go Red Sox!

Wow, what are the Indians thinking?  First CC Sabathia and now Cliff Lee--our best pitcher and Cy Young award winner last year gets traded for four minor leaguers.  Looks like it's all about money to me.  I really don't think the Indians owners care about building a winning team at all, just so they turn a profit.  I'm surprised they still have Grady Sizemore (my favorite).  He's good but maybe his salary isn't up high enough for the Indians to kick him out yet.  Word is that Martinez is next on the trading block. 
 
I am so sick of the Indians trades and mismanagement of this team.  We had a few good years there and now we're heading back to the old days it seems when they were a terrible team.  It seems to me that's what they are trying for judging by the trading decisions they make.  I wish the four minor league players who were traded for Cliff Lee good luck and hope they can really take advantage of this break into the major leagues.  I feel bad that they are not welcomed with open arms by the fans here, after all, they have feelings too.  I hope they will be very successful and surprise this city!  Just beware that if you are and you get really good and like it here and the fans adore you, that'll be the time to beware because you'll probably be traded then.
 
In the meantime, I will be a Boston Red Sox fan with my husband.
